What medium do you use to create your artworks?
I primarily use coloured pencils on Arches watercolour paper. Recently I’ve started adding watercolour, gouache and panpastel to my works too.
How large are your pieces and how long do they take to create?
My drawings range in size from 3" x 3" to 12" x 17". They can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks depending on the size and level of detail.
What are your inspirations?
My biggest source of inspiration is Australian native flora and fauna but anything from the natural world (plants, flowers, animals, decay, symbiosis, evolution...). Inspiration can come from anything though… a music lyric, mythology, puzzles, maps, hair, poetry, architecture, a book about how to tie knots, shipwrecks, an antique brooch, science fiction...
Can I get a tattoo of one of your artworks?
Please contact me if you wish to have one of my works tattooed.
For information re tattoo design copyright please visit the Australian Copyright Council website.
Can I use your artwork on my website/social media account?
Not without my consent. Stealing is bad.
Any you planning on restocking a sold out limited edition print?
Unfortunately once a limited edition print has sold out I won't be restocking it.
What is a giclée print?
A giclée print is a high quality reproduction of an original artwork using long life pigment inks on acid-free paper. They have a high archival permanence that retains their image quality for decades.
My prints are printed onto Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper, 100% cotton, acid-free, 308gsm.
Do you have any tips for preserving my print?
Try to handle your print as little as possible.
Don't laminate! Laminating a print is a very damaging process for the paper.
Have your print framed by a professional framer. I advise you not to use a store-bought frame as these often don't use high quality UV protective glass and will not be sealed correctly.
The foam core backing for your print should be acid free, as should its mat border. (The mat should be 100% cotton rag. Your mat border should be thick enough to keep the giclée from touching the glass (this places a layer of air between the print and the protective glass). Use only archive grade tapes and glues for mounting & framing.
Avoid subjecting your framed giclée to UV light, extreme temperature fluctuations or excess humidity.
How are your prints packaged and posted?
Limited edition giclée prints are packaged in a large cardboard cylinder, carefully rolled between acid free tissue paper. If you order contains both greeting cards and prints then the print will be posted flat.
All cards and prints are posted through Australia Post and original artworks are sent via courier service. International orders are posted either by Economy Airmail or Standard Airmail with tracking. Postage prices are calculated by weight and please note that any custom charges are the responsibility of the customer.
Please allow 2-3 working days before your order can be posted as I’m a one-woman show. I process and package orders individually and this takes time :) If you need your order in a hurry please email me and we can organise an express option.
